May Sum describes itself as the citys largest, eat as
much as you want, Chinese style buffet restaurant. Eating
lunchtime is a
bargain. The menu changes to offer maximum choice
but youll find dishes such as prawn toast, chicken wings
and crispy seaweed, followed by mussels in black bean sauce,
fried beef and tomatoes and Szechuen chicken, making this a
good value choice for all the family.

Mister Ms is a highly popular fish and seafood restaurant
located on the Albert Dock area. On the menu youll find
delights such as moules marinere, Maryland crab cakes and
potted shrimps. The main course menu lists lobster thermidore,
salmon Wellington and stuffed seabass, alongside a selection
of meat and chicken dishes too, offering customers all the
choice they could desire.

Capitol in an award winning Chinese restaurant that usually
requires you to book in order to guarantee yourself a table,
especially at weekends. The menu is long and varied covering
great starter platters, ribs, soup and dim sum. Speciality
main course dishes include sizzling beef and spring onion,
deep fried lychee and a range of lobster and birds nest
dishes. Choosing is therefore likely to take some time so
order a few drinks before settling down with the menu and take
your time.

This contemporary restaurant boasts wooden
floors and colourful chairs, whilst the food is of a modern
European basis. Dine on starters such as crab spring rolls or
seared scallops, before moving onto mains such as pan-fried
fillet of cod with saffron risotto cake, or roast rump of lamb
with bubble and squeak. Desserts are another highlight,
including decadent choices such as classic sticky toffee
pudding, praline pannacotta with chocolate ice cream, or
upside down banana tarte with vanilla ice cream.
Valparaiso Hardman Street, Liverpool (0151 708 6036)
Valparaiso is a specialist Chilean restaurant and the only one
of its kind in Liverpool. Here the menu includes choices such
as Valparaiso fish soup or fresh mussels to start with. Main
courses range from shredded beef in a tortilla wrap, to Paella
or Pastel de choclo, a Chilean dish of minced beef topped with
minced sweet corn. Expect to pay around £10 per main course
and £3.95 for dessert.

The Lower Place is situated within the Philharmonic Hall and so its a popular pre and post concert venue. The restaurant serves a good selection of international cuisine and has won several awards, making this a very popular place to dine. Evening dining is Wednesday through to Saturday unless concerts are on the other nights, so booking to ensure a table in advance is advisable.
